Bodily signals are the most reliable non verbal signs of deception. A person generally has less conscious control over his body movement. Hand to face gestures and shrugs are a strong sigh of deception. Playing and touching nearby items during conversations has also been found to be associated with deception. Deceivers are also likely to have increased activity, quick and animated use of arms and hands.
