The position of the head says a lot! Look for and use these face and head signals:
· Watch for tilting heads to gauge interest in what you are saying.
· No head tilt? Pick up the pace or change the subject.
· Is someone looking down or do they have their face turned away from you? They do not believe you!
· A chin stroke means they are in deep in thought.
· A chin push, however, communicates strong opposition.
· Resting the chin in a hand is a sign of boredom.
· Watch out if someone covers his/her mouth; this is a sign of deceit.
· Collar pulling shows a feeling of being under pressure.
· Neck grabbing conveys frustration.
· Patting or fondling hair means a lack of self-confidence.
· Stroking chin or pulling on an ear means someone is trying to make a decision.
· Scratching the neck means uncertainty.
